About Ash Verma

Ash VermaAlong with the team, Ash collaborates to influence and shape growth, investment and marketing decisions made by senior decision takers in small, medium, and large enterprises, and governmental and third sector organisations in the UK, South and Far East Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Ash is a former British Civil Servant, and has held senior leadership, consultancy, mentoring and advisory positions across various areas of Government policy during a fifty-year professional and business career.

He has led the strategic design and delivery of high-profile Government, private and third sector investment in various economic development, regeneration, enterprise and health and wellbeing programmes and initiatives in London, nationally and in overseas markets. Ash has manged multi-faceted public/private sector programmes and initiatives with budgets ranging from £5m to £200m and levered in £50m inward investment in various initiatives.

Since the inception of the former Gateway Asia, an EU/Greater London Authority B2B funded international trade initiative, of which Ash was the architect, he has broadened his horizons as a consultant, mentor, and social entrepreneur in the last fifteen years. He now provides business health-checks, market entry and end-to-end joint venture brokerage services to SMEs looking to grow in the UK or to enter emerging markets, especially South and Far-East Asia and East Africa. He also mentors SMEs to design and introduce health and wellbeing policies and practices.

Having led many in-and-outbound bi-lateral trade delegations and conferences between India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Mauritius, Kenya, Morocco, USA, France, Germany, and the Czech Republic, Ash has acquired an extensive business, professional and social network in the UK and in overseas markets.

As an Executive Producer, I provide consultancy and project management support and help to facilitate investment partnerships for companies that operate in the wider and South Asian media and entertainment sector.  My credits include comedy feature The Effects of Lying, thriller feature Punishment which is in development phase, and documentaries Aim High, A Stitch in Time, and Invest Harrow.

As a social entrepreneur, I Chair Community Connex, a charity dedicated to supporting people with learning and other disabilities, and Capable Communities, a social enterprise that helps vulnerable and isolated adults.

An Honorary Fellow of Brunel University, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Ash has been acknowledged twice in the Asian Power 100 publications for his contribution to the economic and social development of the UK’s South Asian community.
